I had reused them a few times, buy a tube of 515 or 518 and put a little bit around the matting surface just in case.
Does anyone have the scoop on these 1-1/2" thick, semi plastic/rubber
gaskets that are used on newer water cooled condensers? It seems that
the gasket now creates the space at either end of the barrel for the water
to reverse direction. My question is, are these gaskets reusable? If I take the
ends off to punch the tubes, will the gaskets seal correctly. I am getting conflicting
answers from reps and even the mfg of the condenser barrels, along with the new
standard line in the industry, "Sorry Not In Stock". I have run into situations where if
the condenser water got too cool, that the gaskets would leak. The lead times are up
7 weeks.
Thanks,
Grego
