Mt. Vernon AE Moisture in Flue
Was on a call yesterday clean and inspect issues with convection blower jam or some error code on menu prompts at thermostat. Did the clean removed exhaust
motor and moist soot/mud looking stuff was inside. looked at the cap little hood type with concrete sloped sealed with no signs of leaks. It did rain heavily the last
weekend but have never seen moisture in the exhaust compartment before. Cleaned out as much as possible buttoned it up, unit ran fine. Been running into
serveral pellet inserts that haven't had service for 4-5 years and its the pits. Takes longer to clean, usually problems with fans/ignitor/thermocouple, bad news all
coupled with some expensive conversations. Was wondering if you guy come across moisture in the flue on pellets much and what would you to reccommended
preventative action safeguarding the electronics?

It's happens, not much you can do about it, the sideways rain always gets you
