They have nukes also.....and they also have ballistic missle subs.... which would probably put a hurting on us.... thats ballistic missles with nuclear warheads....

China has a pretty decent navy now..... modern too... probably a lot better than the japanese navy .... but then I think we still have restrictions on the japanese military..... but of course.... they have us to protect them.

China has much to be bitter about...the Japanese kicked their arss in the past and were absolutely brutal. They have not forgotten the rape of Nanking.
Just as the Jews have not forgotten about the Holocaust.

In any case, the Japanese are tough and will defend themselves...we just need to supply them with the tools....might be good for our war based economy.

Big war ships can be sunk easily with radar evading missiles launched from land or small boats. Example - French exocet missile and the HMS Sheffield in the Falkland war.

BAM!...there goes several hundred million dollars!

The HMS Sheffield did not have a Goalkeeper and it didn't have an optic guided laser focused I beam microwave transmitted,Sea Whiz.

I don't get to see anything to do with the navy so watching that video was a fun watch! I do have the pleasure of watching the a-10's and b2's do their thing flying training missions.

Personally... if world tensions are high... let two OTHER countries fight it out... while we supply the hardware to one side.

Accomplishes two things:
One (and this is the MOST important) NO CONFLICT reaches US shores or dirt, and
Two: We get to ramp up our military industrial complex... which is jobs.

BTW: In other threads, I read folks want to lower the military budget... Well, I like the USA being the baddest (by a HUGE margin) military in the world...
Keeps others from messing with us.

I don't think any war will start. This is all about oil. I don't mind us being the biggest and baddest military, but we are by far the biggest and baddest military. I think we can back it off some of our spending and still be the biggest and baddest by far. I'm watching Modern Marvels about the military right now. It costs us about $400/gallon for fuel in a war zone, it shows how wasteful our military really is.

There is waste but being around these guys every day I think they deserve the best training and equipment we can give them. I'm not biased or anything since I work for a sub contractor and my life depends on it......
