We have had a heat pump installed air flo and alwas freezes up adn the defrost wont unfreeze it we have to turn of to let thaw the origanl contracter says works fine we have had a second lenox dealer in and thay say dont use it might blow up no one will fix to make work proper.
we have a 2.5 ton airflo and out house is 3000sq ft 3 floors
very confuused on how to make this work proper to stay warm and not run heaters anymore.

Don't be confused. Call your local hvac supply house(Johnstone's, R.E. Michel,etc.) and see if they could recommend a good contractor for you. You need someone who knows what they're doing to check over your entire system, and with three floors it's probably zoned, so mention this.If everything was always done "by the book"....the book would never change.
