Pretty good analogy there Delta... I would suggest one thing:
BHO wants to be worshipped... that is his goal. And BHO's country (what he is trying to make America into) is a 3rd world banana dictatorship.
Now do we really want to allow that... or do we want to go back to the principles of the Constitution and rebuild this wonderful country to its former glory?
Following BHO means being poor and destitute under a tyrant leader... Following the Constitution means rolling up one's sleeves and making a life for oneself... under a FREE system.
So which one sounds like a better way?GA-HVAC-Tech

Cut spending across the board, let the bush tax cuts expire for everyone , do away with earned income credit and make every person with income pay something . You will never get reed of welfare or programs for the poor and i don't think we should but it can be lowered in time . I think that would be a good start .

There is going to be no rebuilding of this country to her former greatness...... Just aint going to happen.....sorry.... you are the weakest link...
Americans are inherently selfish people and they enjoy the nice things that life in america offers them.... In order to make america great again then everyone needs to work together and we all need to suffer a bit as we give things up for the betterment of the nation.....
but the problem is that nobody wants to suffer a little bit and nobody wants to give anything up.....
People demand goods at the lowest cost possible..... businesses demand the greatest profits that they can squeeze out of their goods or services...workers demand higher wages and benefits.......Let go of my cracker jacks, If you dont Im going to have to beat you....... now then hand my captain crunch back over to me this instant.....or else !!!

Actually, I would like to get rid of ALL federal govt assistance programs... they are nothing more or less than vote-buying machines we the taxpayer is funding... and NO it is NOT right.
The churches used to handle charity... and it was a LOT more efficient then (a higher number of folks got taken care of for a LOT less $$$). The BEST thing about local non-profits that were NOT govt agencies handling charity was: LOCAL control without politics included.
One thing I really need someone to explain to me: WHY is charity the govt's responsibility? Why not do it privately?GA-HVAC-Tech

I would really like to see some real facts that church charities actually helped more folks than the federal government does. Just start watching the news....every christmas we see the stories of the churches....and non profit charities who just dont have enough to give.....and that because nobody is giving to the charities.
How many families or homeless folks does your church take care of each year ??? lol.... and please...... taking them a plate of food and a can of pumpkin pie filling and a box of instant mashed potatos one day a year doesnt really count as taking care of them.......lol
Yes.... the government taking care of folks costs us money...... but again.... we are americans and we ( well...most of us...) just dont believe in shoving old folks, mentally and physically handicapped and children out into the streets to fend for themselves.Let go of my cracker jacks, If you dont Im going to have to beat you....... now then hand my captain crunch back over to me this instant.....or else !!!

Charity is NOT in the Constitution, nor is "assistance" nor are "entitlements". They are ALL vote buying schemes of the Progressives and why a pure democracy would bankrupt the country in no time, just as Jefferson warned.
Charity was run by churches first then later foundations and charitable organizations, which evolved into employment for many. Christianity teaches caring for your fellow man but by doing it personally--not giving money to a surrogate (government) to do it for you. By bullying their way in place of personal involvement, government has pushed out God and put themselves over God, or at least they think so.
The process of "helping" so many has resulted in destroying the dreams, the drive, the passion of the human experience turning them into meaningless life forms and drones owned by the government. So much for the "New Deal", "Great Society", Progressivism/ Socialism/ Fascism/ Statism/ Communism

What exactly is the best solution or plan for getting this burden off the governments back ???
Does anyone have one besides wheeling the elderly out onto the street....or throwing kids out onto the street to beg or do whatever is neccesary to survive ???
Seriously.... does anyone have a plan....???
Just because it doesnt say it in the constitution is not a good excuse....because the constitution when written was not a complete document...it was written to be changed.
God doesnt give a rats ass about the constitution.....which some of you tend to put on a higher level of importance than the bible itself...
Are we a christian nation....or are we a nation of heartless sobs who worships the constitution and the founders.....
But again.... lets leave God and the founders out of this...
What is the best plan out there for dealing with the TRULY needy and the little kids who cant take care of themselves.... and get the burden of taking care of them off the governments back.Let go of my cracker jacks, If you dont Im going to have to beat you....... now then hand my captain crunch back over to me this instant.....or else !!!

The charity argument is polluted. Many folk may think "why should I try to help, the government will take care of them". So your actual numbers, if you can gather them, would not really be representative of potential charity.
I don't think any of us want to send old people and children and mentals out in the street. But we are annoyed at having to buy them cell-phones, and giving them food-stamps they can trade for drugs or spend on hawaiian vacations. Earned income tax refund, when you did not pay any income tax. Crud like that.
I do not want to even explore the thought that government should not be involved in charity in the first place. But I am saying that they are doing a really sorry job at it.I draw all my schematics in crayon now. If they cannot always be correct, they can at least be colorful.

Yes corny, I do have a practical plan. Free housing for the poor and free meals. Warehouse accommodations, meals served at 6&12&8. Expect something with beans. Lot's of beans. Quit buying them GD cellphones and giving them foodstamps they can abuse. They are incompetent, stop trying to make them live at a level they cannot maintain. They just can't. They do not need a proper apartment and an x-box and a big screen TV. What they need is a steady job, but I understand that can get f'd up for any number of reasons,... so you got your basic needs covered. Food and secure shelter, all for free.

Lets say that the government does away with aid to the needy or the children or both....and lets say that it saves a 100 billion a year.....and thats just off the top of my head....
Do you actually think that the government is going to give that money back to us in the form of lower taxes or to businesses in the way of aid to help them get started and create jobs....
Nope.... Sorry.... they are going to find a place for that xtra cash..... probably a rash of studies of how flies chose the perfect piece of **** to land and feast on..... or they will spend it on 3000.00 executive office chairs for the slugs down at the dmv....
And again Tool...... most americans dont give....and its not because of the government.... you got people out there who are all out for themselves......and most americans are like that.... the government gives them a break on their taxes and charity is the farthest thing from their minds..... its going to be a new car.... new smart phones for the family.... vacation..... and so on....
The government does a very sorry job of charity..... but when you look at the way the private sector handles charity....they are no different...... they waste an incredible amount of money on lavish salaries...fancy perks and office buildings for the staff.....too much staff....and a lot of other "costs" that most people dont think about when giving.
Look up charities on the net.... you will find that a lot of them actually use up 80 to 90 percent of the donations....or more..... in costs with...... 10-20 percent....and thats the norm and not exception actually reaching the needy.
Take away government support and force people to rely on charity and we are going to see old folks dying on the streets....kids out on the street begging for food.....and a vast increase in crime.
What we need to do is find a way to take care of the truly needy and not give hand outs to people who just wont work..... that is the biggest problem facing us and its also one that is nearly impossible....if not wholly impossible to solve.Let go of my cracker jacks, If you dont Im going to have to beat you....... now then hand my captain crunch back over to me this instant.....or else !!!

Understood corny, I am just going to refer back to my 10;58 post. Basically free food and shelter. I don't think there is any intelligent way to separate the temporarily down, the permanently useless, or the lazy riders. I think am okay with the federal government doing that. But I think we need to see an end to free cellphones, free upscale rentals, food-stamps, and that sort of thing.
Most people on welfare, I bet you, live better than I do.I draw all my schematics in crayon now. If they cannot always be correct, they can at least be colorful.
