1 Raise the minimum wage...start at 7.75 and move to 8.25 in 5 years...the benifits to the senior worker and those in menial employment would be tremendous.
2.Begin Hearings into war profiteering with Justice Dept. involvement..Those found guilty looting the treasury will be charged with treason and detained as enemy combatants of the United States. With no profit motive for this endeavor.
You can bet our involvement there will come to an abrupt end.
3.Vigorously pursue energy independence...commit funds equal to that spent in Iraq and half the oil company subsidies. And spend it in this country towards clean and independent alternative resources...At least give the archaic and aristocratic petroleum fortunes some competition for christ sakes.
While none of these would have a chance of passing without compromise and back channel politics and a measure of insider corruption...The goals are worthy and long overdue.
Havin'a good time is what life is all about.

the minimum wage is nowhere close to a living wage, for the most part education is free, with it there is no need for a minimum wage. Gads, if war profiteering was stopped, the unemployment rate would most likely hit the mid teens.Cardboard work for food signs would sell at a premium. as for oil and energy independence, build more refineries and increase the supply.

Yes, high school kids working part-time who sack groceries should make enough to live on their own, and dragging the economy to a screeching halt will be the result.Originally posted by addfreon

Have you ever heard of furthering your education to make yourself worth more rather than forcing the government to pay higher wages to uneducated people who refuse to better themselves?
Subpoenas are obviously your excuse for not being able to create a plan to better society and solve issues.2.Begin Hearings into war profiteering with Justice Dept. involvement..Those found guilty looting the treasury will be charged with treason and detained as enemy combatants of the United States. The democrat party will be known as the “busy body” party.
”Commit funds”. Tax and spend is all you guys know. No economics intelligence at all.3.Vigorously pursue energy independence...commit funds equal to that spent in Iraq and half the oil company subsidies. You gotta eat first. I've seen some highly educated folks doing menial labor these days.Have you ever heard of furthering your education to make yourself worth more rather than forcing the government to pay higher wages to uneducated people who refuse to better themselves?
Gee, supoena's were touted by Republicans as a cure for the country's ills when we spent $55 million dollars to find out Clinton got a blowjob.Subpoenas are obviously your excuse for not being able to create a plan to better society and solve issues

Seems Republicans were strongly in favor of supoenas at one time. Don't they still think supeonas are an effective tool in fighting corruption, cronyism, lying, war profiteering other assorted violations?
Gee, energy independance, what crap. What we need to do is borrow and spend the money to continue helping out those poor oil companies. They desperately needed those tax breaks Imagine having to survive on all those billions in profits. Horror."Commit funds”. Tax and spend is all you guys know. No economics intelligence at all.
Yeah forget that stuff, let's borrow and spend it on something important like making up bogus reasons to invade a nation that is no threat to us and planting ourselves squarely in the middle of a civil war and watching our dollars being pissed away along with the lives and bodies of our young people.Spending money just to be spending money is you guys forte.

So much drama from Geer.
Most kids 16 to 18 don't work. Of that group that does, I hardly think they are claiming their parents as a tax deduction. Raise the minimum wage. Get rid of the earned income tax credit.
Show us where the Republican touted supenas as a way to cure the country. Clinton's idea was midnight basketball.
For extra credit, tell us how much the cruise missiles cost us that Clinton shot at nothing to draw attention away from himself.

Who said they are claiming parents as a deduction?
Show you, hell man the blizzard of subpoenas flying around Whitewater were enormous.Show us where the Republican touted supenas as a way to cure the country. Clinton's idea was midnight basketball.
1.5 million. Bush spends that in 30 minutes in Iraq 24/7/365For extra credit, tell us how much the cruise missiles cost us that Clinton shot at nothing to draw attention away from himself.

Raise the minimum wage, when will you guys ever understand. When you raise wages the cost of goods goes up in equal proportion. So the hamburger you pay a $1.00 for today, will cost $1.75 with the raise increases. These people will still be in the same postion, it'll look good on paper, but they won't have any more money in their pockets.
Have you hugged the Earth today?

Not at all, I only call for investigations. See the difference? You mean to find out he lied and tampered with evidence. For one who preaches about the laws and rights all the time, it sure is funny how you are convicting people before a trial has taken place.
The phrase what's good for goose is good for the gander comes to mind.
Bush has outspent Clinton in discretionary spending, enlarged the Government more than Clinton, created the an enormous entitlement program, never vetoed a spending bill, given away millions to oil companies and we haven't even gotten to the 4.5 billion a month Bush spends on his personal toy, Iraq. All of this of course is borrowed money.Hmm, seems you guys are the spend experts. Problem is, you guys raise taxes and kill the economy when you do it. An economy that goes to trash does not produce revenue for the treasury. Of course you can not grasp this concept. LOL
Nope. The resolutions did not authorize unilateral action. Security Council authorization was necessary. You forgot one thing, UN resolutions that OK'd to disarm Saddam, who had numerous chances to disarm before we invaded. Nice piece of evidence you people continue to forget.
Disarm? what did iraq have that needed to be disarmed?

Yep, just like bums that win the lottery become bums again. One thing for sure, the person that gets if won't raise their productivity and a employee is not going to pay for nothing. Good luck job hunting.Originally posted by chucko615
