Oil In refrigerant lines
I just removed a residential 2.5 Tn compressor and air handler. I got over a pint of oil out of the refrigerant lines after I recovered the old R-22. The AH is in the basement with about 30 ft of line set. The AC was shutdown for the winter. I don't ever remember getting this much oil. This normal ??? or was the compressor failing ????

Oil in refrigant l
This could be caused by a dirty evap coil or running the a/ c at low temps.

This causes inseffient oil return to the copressor.
I wish this site had spell check.lol

Both the evap coil and the heat coil were filthy .... no access to the heat coil on this vertical AH. Customer tells me no service on the unit since it was installed almost 10 years ago. Thanks for the reply
