Almost none is being reclaimed? Are they using reclaimed and recovered interchangeably?
What with all the recovery machine and tank sales?

I love how they say that it is inconspicuous and fast to just cut out a bad component without recovering the gas first
then they start talking about the eventual phaseout of R-410a. The scam continues...

It all boils down to keep the consumer confused...
IMHO we have been running in place for the last ten years when it comes to phasing out refrigerants.
Somebody with very deep pockets made "Puron" (R410A) out to be the best stuff on the planet... Hmmm, wonder who that could have been....

I thought they would have seen a huge decrease when the ice company I worked for sold off it's r22 turbos for ammonia. They do a good job of fear mongering in that article.

So they already figured out the new cash grab in canada. no more ozone depleating gases left so why do we need an ODP card? We don't now you need a GreenHouseGas card instead. Gotta pay for school again take a new course and pay to renew it each year. The Goverment knows how to make $$$$$

years ago when working in and around a certain chemical companies facilities all over the flat state below pa, we used to go to a certain bar for lunch where many "execs" also went for some martinis. It was before the whole thing even started, and we used ot hear them talk about "if they think r22 is bad, wait till they figure out what the rest of this stuff is". We later learned one of the big uglies was that new low presure stuff that allegedly causes cancer. of course, none of this matters, as it just so happens to lightly coincide with certain patents running out.......
I would, however, be in favor of all contractors following the rules set out for them with respect to recovery, permitting etc, but it just isnt going to happen.

You know, since I'm sure the ac unit at his house has less than 50lbs, technically, wouldn't the tech have been able to come every day and add 5lbs of refrigerant and it wouldn't be against the law. I mean obviously to do that would be dumb, but I don't think it would be against the law.
And I like how they think that by changing a bad compressor instead of selling your customer a whole new system makes you such an evil and immoral person.
