vent draft regulator for oil furnace

I haven't done a lot with oil furnaces so I ask lots of questions when I can. Is a draft regulator required for a vent pipe venting out the chimney?

Yes, you need it in order to set your draft.

Required by code unless specifically prohibited by the mfr. Must be set to a specific draft guided by a manometer. See Field Controls for more info.

Should have one on everything. Also install a spill switch wired in series with the burner. Allow unit to run and get a hot flue. Then adjust draft to manufacturer specs. Check draft under the barometric or closest to the burner because this is the draft the barometric is controlling. most oil furnaces are set to -.02" w.c.
