To catch the lent before it vents to their front porch. At least that is all I can figure. Saw it doing a winter check this morning

Is that like the "lint interceptor"? Lint gets stuck in the tote, hot air continues through and goes out the vent?
WTF that is silly.

can't imagine all the good nasty stuff that grows in there.... only to be expelled onto the people relaxing on the front porch.....
It's all about heat transfer...

You know you could patent that as an energy saving device. The lint would all be trapped in the tote, so only the warm air would be blowing out. You could have a three-way valve and pipe the hot air coming out of the "lint interceptor" into the return duct to save on heat bills.

What's a LENT catcher? Does it trap meat on Fridays leading up to Easter?

CONSERVATION - turning your thermostat back and being uncomfortable. Maybe saving 5-10%
ENERGY EFFICIENCY - leaving your thermostat where everyone is comfortable. Saving 30-70%
DO THE NUMBERS! Step on a HOMESCALE.
What is comfort? Well, it AIN'T just TEMPERATURE!
Energy Obese? An audit is the next step - go to BPI.org, or RESNET, and find an auditor near you.
