The problem with that story is that it is written from a liberal perspective. It is true that the Republican platform does not cater to Latinos, women or an economic class of Americans. The Republican platform is based on providing a level playing field for all Americans, regardless of ethnicity, gender or economic classification. With a level playing field, those Americans who can do, will do. The harder we work toward goals, the better chance we will have of achieving those goals. That is what capitalism and freedom are all about.
From the standpoint of the left, Republicans must start acting more like Democrats by catering to whichever specific groups of Americans that can provide the most votes. This is not Democracy, this is abuse of the political system.
Yes, Republicans need to emphasize more that they are working for all Americans. Yes, Republicans need to be less rational and become more sales hype related to get those Americans who are being misled by promises of government taking care of them to understand that they will be much better off having more oportunities to take care of themselves.
If we must continue to have political parties, which I am vehemently opposed to, the Republican Party and the Libertarian Party should come together in a way that will appeal to liberal minded Americans as well as satisfy the desires for less government by the more conservative minded. Both Republicans and Libertarians want less government. Why not put their heads together and come up with a program that will greatly reduce the influence of the Federal government over our social lives?Government is a disease......masquerading as its own cure…Ecclesiastes 10:2 NIV

The problem is that it isnt going to matter. You can throw in a couple of tokens like Marco Rubio but the reality is that the quickly growing latino.... I hate that word...... but the quicly growing "brown" population of america is always going to vote dem.....
And believe me....brown is where we are going..... and these isnt really anything America the helpless can do about it.
As these populations increase it is going to give them more and more power.... soon we will see more "brown" politicians being elected...and of course these guys are going to be catering to their own people and of course....their own people typically vote dem.....
So there you have it....... Stick a fork in the GOP...they are done....
God rest ye gops merrye soule, it twas good whilst it lasted.
Sad that its the mexican, central and south americans that are going to take back the land.... I would feel better if the native tribes that once roamed this land that we call the USA.... but we pretty much crippled them to the point where they are going to be overrun just as we.... their european descended oppressors...are being overrun.
Thanks Reagan..... that amnesty program of yours set up many generations of legal voters...voters who are typically going to be poor and or working class and are going to vote dem.Let go of my cracker jacks, If you dont Im going to have to beat you....... now then hand my captain crunch back over to me this instant.....or else !!!

My wife is Hispanic. But she has red hair, green eyes and what I call lily white skin. She was all about Romney and the GOP until those fools started rambling on about legal rape and retired people. I know lots of very conservative hard working latinos and blacks. They have the same feelings toward the GOP as those that are liberal. They ask why would I vote for someone who thinks like me but does not want me around

The media expounds what they WANT the general population to believe, NOT what the truth really is.....
That article is evidence of that fact...
.Those who dance, appear insane to those who do not hear the music.
Those who believe, appear ignorant to those who do not know God.

Those individuals are simply sick and tired of being painted with this brush. One that also includes the ideology that they are takers and are not true Americans.
It is driving them to the polls in mass and they don't care if they have to wait 7 hours, they are going to cast their vote and make their voice heard.
So I say please continue to alienate and exclude everyone with your biased rhetoric and we will continue to kick your A$$es come election time.

Funny ace, you don't know that there sizable White populations in Mexico (Amish for instance have communities in Mexico) and other Central and South American countries but I would not refer to them as Hispanic even if they had an Hispanic name. Thank you, thank you very much"I could have ended the war in a month. I could have made North Vietnam look like a mud puddle."
"I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them."

I agree Glenn. But she considers herself hispanic or latino. But her favorite is spanish.
Robo. One question. How did you conclude that the article was written by the liberal press when almost all of it was quotes from leading Republicans

My main gripe with all of this liberal/conservative rhetoric is that I believe that the vast majority of us are both liberal and conservative minded in varying degrees on different subjects. I know many liberal minded couples who have raised very responsible children to adulthood because they were also willing to employ some conservative values in the rearing of those children. I myself have employed many liberal values in the upbringing of my own boys, who were also subject to my conservative views of political issues.
As far as the painting with the proverbial wide brush, we all tend to fall into that trap when communicating specific issues. You have just done exactly the same thing with me.
When it comes to those who vote for and otherwise support socialist government programs, they have no right being offended by being called takers if they indeed are takers. It is a darned shame, but Romney was not really far off when he stated that so many Democrat supporters are those who take from the system. Just look at the demographics of who votes for Democrats; minorities looking for benefits, union members looking for more compensation for their work, immigrants looking for more benefits for themselves and those in their families who are not even legally in the U.S., homosexuals, environmentalists and other single minded groups looking for more government protection and money....the list goes on and on. If these individuals and organizations cannot take care of themselves without having to have government take from those who earn and give to those who take, then these individuals and organizations should be reevaluating their values and goals.
The give away by government society we have created has created more of what they claim to be protecting. We have more poor because it is now easier to be poor and still have the benefits of life that come naturally when we work for those benefits.
So, keep on kicking the behinds of those who provide and eventually there will not be enough providers to support the takers. That is how the Socialist government that the U.S. has become has wound up in all past governments. Once the balance is tilted to where there are not enough providers to provide for all of the special give away programs that government uses to obtain votes from takers, we either have a revolution or government turns into a fascist regime that dictates how much all of the common folk are allowed to have while the elites continue to live in luxury.Government is a disease......masquerading as its own cure…Ecclesiastes 10:2 NIV
