No More Twinkies?
'Tis a dark day indeed...
Hostess Brands, the makers of Twinkies, Devil Dogs and Wonder Bread, has announced it is shutting down operations.

Twinkies- not a big deal. But if they try to mess with Little Debbie Swiss Rolls...
Experience is what you have an hour after you need it.

They could revamp and keep the snack cakes alive. It's all about distribution. The biggest hurdle is shelf life. Believe it or not shelf life is only maybe 3 weeks tops. If Hostess could distribute there product thru a large region/nationwide distributor rather than route drivers. The grocer would be responsible for stocking the shelves, ordering , and QC at the shelf level. They could save a ton of cash. They would more than likely lose the mini mart business, but would hold onto the market business and probably the vending business.

They also filed for bankruptcy in the past. Bad business plan.
