reverse valve failure at pilot cap
I am relaying this issue from my very experienced tech.
reversing valve on a goodman R22 HP has been failing at cap-pilot connection, either at hot gas or suction.
4 and counting.
Goodman has suggested many solutions, all followed but no inprovements.
No vibration seen, no slugging, new compressor with looped hot discharge to absorb vibration.
Anyone Seen this?

Would have if it wasn't R22. Goodman warranty some valves.

I understand the valve is under warranty, but are you eating the labor to do all that or is the customer?
4 reversing valves and a new compressor and it's still blowing the cap tube..... hmmm
Did this just start since the heating season?

So the info is from your tech, but it's not your customer.....
Step in and sell them a new unit.

I've only had one unit that busted a pilot tube more than once. 2 times within a couple months or something like that. I went out to do the 2nd and found poor connection causing a chatter. Can't remember if it was contactor or valve chattering but it took care of it. It was a 410 unit but...
