    It depends upon where you live and your climate. A heat pump is nearly always more economical to operate than electric heat, gas or oil anywhere in the United States.

    Around here, they run so much more. My heat pump has a 13 SEER rating but only 8.5 or so HSPF which is SEER in heating season.

    Are you just talking about the heat pump itself, or are you including the electric resistance heat in your kilowatt usage.

    Are you constantly changing the temperature setting or just leaving it at a constant temperature?
