Carrier 38AKS condensing units with 2 fans do this too. #2 fan rotates backwards while #1 runs, when #2 is energized, it continues to run in wrong direction. A new capacitor fixes this.....for a while!

Have to be careful with York Equipment they run condenser fans in reverse to maintain system head pressures.......usually 3phase equipment though....

I have not seen that before, interesting. Must have a second contactor to run fan in opposite direction.

maybe at the factory they put the rotor in the wrong way. could have tried flipping the rotor.

Now that's one I haven't run across. Do you have a model number on that?

i have had the trane motor run in reverse before, i flipped the fan blade to get them by untill the new motor arrived. not the best. high head, also had to run a sprinkler on the coil. great for roof leaks.
