Carrier 38AKS condensing units with 2 fans do this too. #2 fan rotates backwards while #1 runs, when #2 is energized, it continues to run in wrong direction. A new capacitor fixes this.....for a while!

i have had the trane motor run in reverse before, i flipped the fan blade to get them by untill the new motor arrived. not the best. high head, also had to run a sprinkler on the coil. great for roof leaks.
