    Setting head presure for WRV help

    Hey group

    Question what pressure should i set the WRV on a refrigeration system or shall i say what head pressure shoud i be shooting for on system? Any refrigerant. Whats temp/pressure is best for maximum effiency?

    I also ran across a sysytem with WRV on the inlet and valve is installed backwards (arrow the opposite direction)

    Should i be shooting for 90-100 degree condensing temp? Ya 2sac i'll see if i can locate a PT chart i think I've seen them some where

    That would depend on which refrigerant you plan on using.

    There are some Tecumseh's where 130 degrees is your goal. You're head pressure range is no different than an air cooled unit. If it's an ice machine checking the mfg recomendations would be the best bet.

    The industry's standard nominal rating point for water-cooled condensing units is 105ºF SCT, so set the WRV to the corresponding pressure for the refrigerant you're working with...so from the PT chart, for R22 it would be 210 psig. The same method applies for whatever the refrigerant is.
