HRV systems
In a couple weeks I'll be doing the HRAI "Residential ventilation installer" course, which focuses a lot on residential HRV design and installation. Can;t wait to get started. I've been doing hydronic heating & cooling for ten years, looking forward to expanding my skill set.
Around here we don't tie the HRV ducting into the forced-air furnace, it is a stand-alone system.
Do any of you install these systems? What can I expect out in the field? How long does a typical rough-in take? From what I've seen, the ducting is pretty basic compared to a heating/cooling air system.
IWhen servicing the HRV/air handling unit itself, what can I expect in terms of parts failing, regular maintenance other than filter changes, etc.
As you can see I'm anxious to sink my teeth into this.
