Not sure where in the hell the foil came from.

The foil is the least of the problems! That's about as dirty as I've seen.

That is not an evaporator coil, there aren't any fins.....

That's a high efficiency direct contact filter, no dirt gets through now
the foil I guess makes it electro static!!!! Lol!

1980 something Bard coil. Changed the system. Coil sits in the scrap coil pile now.

good place for it......
it was working.... played with it.... now its broke.... whats the going hourly rate for HVAC repair

I would have to guess that after the coil clogged and the air flow stopped, the furnace burnt the foil off of the insulation in the heat exchanger box. Now that is assuming the coil sat on a furnace. I have witnessed that before and it's not pretty. Might want to check the heat exchanger if I'm right.

Old lowboy furnace. Can't remember the name. Had cleveland in it i think. I got the emblem somewhere. No foil inside that old puppy!
