Pellet vs Wood Burning stove?
I know nearly nothing about either of them, but I do want to have a form of heat other than depending on my oil burner. Are there stoves that would take both logs and pellets? Is one cheaper to use or more efficient over the other? How do I know what name brands of either of these are crappy, to stay away from? How do I find someone to install and teach me how to use one?

Pellet stoves require electricity to operate and are typically smaller heaters than woodstoves, they also require regular (weekly or biweekly) maintenance, however they are convenient. Most can be run off a themostat. Woodstoves require less maintnenance and will operate with no power. Typically you can get much larger heaters also. I would suggest you go to www.nficertified.org and find someone in your area to consult.
