yes you can have refrigerant lingering in the oil and if you heat it it will help it boil off.
If you are recovering gas from a burn out I hope your using an HH drier before it hits your reclaim unit.
Yes you should have taps on both sides
Just out of curiosity did you take your two ounces of gas to the recylcing center when you was finshed.

when you do 20 to 30 units at a time, like I do, those 2-4 oz add up. Its simple just follow the law.

de-minimis means:
That which to too small to be bothered with. Something which makes no substantial difference
Sure seems like a whole lot of discretionary lee-way in that definition to me. <g>PHM

I under stand "de-minimis". but how many people out there do what they can to recover all freon, like sucking out as much freon out of the hoses with the recovery machine or waiting until the pump down cycle before closeing your gauges and sucking the high side hose(full of liquid) back into the unit. I'm not trying to break balls.
