    I am purchasing an older home that has a split system( 2 compressors and 1 condenser upstairs in the attic. can anyone tell me the pros and cons and possibly what to look out for.Thanks!

    You have been most helpful, I know it is old the house was built in 1975.

    I will have to get back to you with more info. All i remember so far is that everything in the attic looks fairly new and one outside unit has been replaced recently. thanks for the reply.

    Coils are in the attic, sorry about my A/C savy. There are 2 2.5 ton condensers and 1 5 ton coil with 2 inlets and outlets. only one Thermostat.
