Old Trane burner problem

Sounds like you have a classic "floating" flame. Poor venting, clear the HX of crap. It is restricted and not allowing the products of combustion to vent and the flame is recirculating seeking combustion air. Anyway that's what it sounds like.

yea, pull the draft hood and look thoroughly at the top of the heat exchanger, could have a bird in it. Have you tried swopping burners to see if its the burner or if its that section of the heat exchanger

Thanks to everybodies replies I was able to fix it. I had to take the draft hood off and and remove metal pieces inside hx. After cleaning and vaccuming out upper hx the burners were fine. This website rocks! Thanks guys.
