Ugh, looks like the Tranes where I work. Ours still have their low volt transformers for each unit and a bunch of isolation relays mounted in random places with all the wires the same color. What a PITA when a twinning kit would have worked just fine.

The only way to stop a Trane in my parts is to buy it from Home Depot. Their installers are good for a real laugh, how about using lead free solder on a R-410a change out? I was there in the winter, there was so much dripped solder it fell into the furnace and shorted out the Honeywell ignition module. The guy used plumbing flux too, what a nasty mess. The owner called me this spring because the unit didn't seem to be dehumidifying just cooling.
They kind of screwed up installing a 4 ton Trane where the original unit was a HS18-411 Lennox a 3 ton unit which was oversized for the duct size. The reason I did not get this installation was this long time customer called a plumbing company with the same name who told him they didn't do air conditioning anymore.
I handed this back to Home Depot as it was under warranty, good luck getting that Trane out of the station.
Well I know this unit is going to last only a few years, hopefully I get the change out, if not maybe the guy will end up with a 5 ton next time. We have idiots around these parts that put in 3 tons with 90k gas furnace no matter what size the house is. These guys have also standardized their duct sizes to 6 inch flex for all duct runs not matter if they run the duct 3 stories or five feet.

Imagine a world where you could see everybody's energy use:
Imagine a world where people could see independent verification of energy savings by contractor. Where we could have MPG ratings for HOUSES:
Think good work would then have a "seeable" compelling, quantifiable argument? That the argument that a small incremental investment in "better" results in long term dividends? Isn't this what people want? Some tangible way to justify spending more on quality?
Quality needs to become more tangible, more quantifiable.Which makes more sense to you?
CONSERVATION - turning your thermostat back and being uncomfortable. Maybe saving 5-10%
ENERGY EFFICIENCY - leaving your thermostat where everyone is comfortable. Saving 30-70%
DO THE NUMBERS! Step on a HOMESCALE.
What is comfort? Well, it AIN'T just TEMPERATURE!
Energy Obese? An audit is the next step - go to BPI.org, or RESNET, and find an auditor near you.
