    Mitsubishi Mini Splits

I have aquired some new R22 Mini Split Heat Pump outdoor units still in the box.
The Air Handlers I have are Strait cool and I need to find some R22 air handlers or maybe convert a R410a.
I understand the metering devices are in the outdoor unit and wonder why you can't change or alter them to work with R410a !?
Any body have any experience with these applications ?

You might be out of luck on that. The compressor oil will not likely be compatible with 410a.

Post the model number of the outdoor units you have.

Unfortunately, it's not just as easy as changing a few valves. Mitsubishi uses EEV's/LEV's. Each system has sensors and controls that are designed to operate under R22 temps and pressures. Not to mention the coils would not be rated for the higher R410A pressures.

Your best bet would be to purchase matching indoor and outdoor systems.
