Centrifugal switch at the end of the motor proves the motor shaft is turning. Of course it doesn't help if the blower wheel has rusted off. Then your using the other safety device. Flames from delayed ignition melting wires.

Years ago I worked on a Trane rooftop that used a sail switch that the inducer closed on inducer startup, then fired the burners.
If every a...... could do this,I wouldn't have a job...
