When the RTU has horizontal duct you have to remove the top panel and inner HX panel to get to the primary and secondary switches. Real PIA.

Ask him if he found that sequencer inside the side discharge panel(back panel). If so he reset teh high limit, which will trip if you shut the disconnect off during a heat call with teh burner running.

This was in the control panel with the contactors and relays. I know about the limit by the heat exchanger. That was the first thing I had suggested.

After looking at the wiring diagram I think he was talking about the ETD. Electronic Time Delay.

I reread the post. Sounds like the initial problem is/was the crossover tube and/or clogged pilot orifice and/or spiders nest. This is why he had to light with a torch. Does this unit have the blue Johnson Controls ignition modules? Those are designed to have multiple voltage inputs for them to fire. Even though you have 24v at TH, if any limits are open the inducer will run but you will not get spark.

He said they were grey boxes which means they were replaced. I think those are UEI boxes?

Not familiar with UEI the Honeywell universal is grey, and I thought JC did make grey boxes at some point in time but I could be wrong.

I have one in my truck. I will check tomorrow and let you know the make. I know it's the JCI replacement.

That's funny this guy is from P&J and said he learned everything he knows from you. All kidding aside, I just wanted to get the kid some other thoughts on the issue since I knew I would probably not have time to go down and check out his issue. But he figured it out and learned a little from it.
