I wish all of you guys good luck. Get plenty of food and gas for the generators. Be safe!

The folks NE of this thing having not gone through it are screwed, they will not heed the warnings and there will be many deaths....
Been through a few and mother nature can play a mean game when she wants too, shame to many will not know what to do when it is to late to do it.
This is not hitting an area that does know the drill.

I'm in Florida now, went through 04 when we got hit 4 times in a row, but I'm originally from upstate NY. None of my family and friends think this is going to do anything to them. I keep on looking at the projected winds for that area and seeing 2-4 days for 35-60 MPH winds and 6" of rain. They are convinced that the mountains will weaken it. Most of them have no idea what they are in for and seem to think that Irene is what they are in for again. I hope they are right.

I've got my windows boarded up. Some neighbors are taking this storm too lightly as are some of my friends that live on barrier islands. The 2 hours it took me to prep for this will pay off if we get wacked like predicted. Check out this pic a relative sent me. Is this going to protect his home? Lol to me it seems like a waste but what do i know . . .

I lost power last year for 6 days, I hope it doesn't happen again. But it could have been be alot worse. I'm on Long Island. They already closed the schools for Monday and Tuesday.

In CT they have closed the schools for monday tuesday. Most around here are getting ready but you see alot of people thinking were not going to get anything. We tracked it at work and were going to get hit with it bad, you dont have to be a genius to see that

Just got the call we are shut down tomorrow.
I see the biggest issues with power outages. I know most of ER's and other facilities can only go 3 days at half load on their generators.
