Sitting here in Maryland trying to figure out how hard we are going to get hit. My "outdoor" cat is inside and won't go out. Guess he learned his lesson with Irene. LOL So I think we are going to get hit hard.

Only thing I'm hoping with this thing is that people in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania are taking this seriously.

Just got back from getting the generator from my folks rental house in Manteo. The tide has dropped 4-5 feet in the sounds and we still have a long time to go. This ain't gonna be pretty. I live in Kitty Hawk Nc .

Yeah I hope y'all Yankees take it serious when it pushes up the Delaware bay. This ain't no Joke.

Remember the movie the perfect storm. This is the ingredients.

All but the 3rd and that one is from Portsmith Island where the NPS left 20 fisherman out on the island that were in the ferry line, BASTARDS !!!

I am praying hard for those folks, that is not a good place to be right now.

Seeing the sound side sucking in has me a bit worried as that was not called for.

I'm not liking the possible merger between Sandy and the winter mix out of Canada. In fact, I'm not liking anything about this situation.

Please take extra care out there and look out for one another.

Oh, the people in Philly are taking it very seriously. Try near panic. NYC will get the bulk of the national coverage when Long Is. Sound backs up into Manhattan but the damage will be immensely widespread. They are predicting several feet of snow in the mountains and of course floods here. Jersey shore will get nuked. We're as prepared as can be I guess. I'm recollecting Hugo and how everyone in my hometown thought we wouldn't get much damage being 100 miles from the coast. We were the second hardest hit county with 109mph sustained, gusts to 129 and over 75 F1-F2 tornadoes. Those twisters clobbered Charlotte, NC then. Everyone thinks these storms are required by law to dissipate their energy as soon as they touch land---ain't so.

I'll try to post updates as long as I have power and an internet connection but we're expecting to be without power for days. The problem with restoring power is because this storm is the size of some countries, it may take a lot longer to get line crews in as they will be spread out. They are already on the job in NC and pouring in from all over the country. God bless everyone who goes into harm's way to help others.
