    Confused Trane XR80 Problem

I know next to nothing about HVAC, so I apologize in advance for my ignorance on the subject.

I have a less than two-year-old Trane XR80 in my house. When the furnace kicks in, what I'm assuming is the ignitor just clicks continuously. Nothing else happens- the blower doesn't start, no heat, etc. Additionally, the red LED diagnostic light is glowing red (no blinking)- according to a quick Google search, this means the control board needs to be replaced. This brings me to my questions:

1.) Is it correct that the diagnostic light is indicating that I need a new control board?
2.) Is this unusual for a relatively new (less than two years) furnace?
3.) Ballpark, how much will a new control board cost?
4.) Being a novice, is installing a control board something that is doable, or should I have a pro do it?
5.) If the control board isn't the issue, any idea what the problem may be?

Thanks is advance for the help.

Sounds like you need a new board and a failure in 2 years isn't unusual sad to say. The part should be under warranty but you would pay labor.

Sadly, I had a feeling that would be the case. Thanks.
