I agree silicone looks 300 times better, i hate foil tape

If our guys set that unit that close to the wall they would be fired in a second. The lead installer shouldn't of let that happen. If he doesn't get fired I would definetly make him pump the unit down and reinstall it away from themwall so it can be serviced. Have him do it of course on his own time without pay....

Are you having massive coil problems with the 410a coils?
The company I worked for used to install the most 17-18 SEER 2 Speed HP's in south central Texas, but our failure rate is nearly 80%!

whats the point off all the foil tape.... it looks like hell.... a proper sheet metal joint requires zero foil tape..... i don't get it.....
it was working.... played with it.... now its broke.... whats the going hourly rate for HVAC repair

I dont agree its preference, we do the tape, sometimes caulk and tape depending on acess..it personal preference.. Originally Posted by heresjohnnyb
