If you cant sell a chicken to someone...

A poultry vendor at a Cleveland market didn't react well today when President Obama asked him how business was going.

"Terrible since you got here," the man replied.

The pool report said journalists "could not get close enough to the Rolston Poultry man to get his name or political affiliation."

It added that Obama "didn't appear amused by the sentiment."

The exchange came during an unscheduled stop at the Cleveland West Side Market, a century-old collec...

    My thoughts....

If a mans business is doing bad...such as this poultry monger........ then its not the president and its not the economy..... well.... in some instances it might be the prez and his policies....and of course it might be the economy.....

But when a small time food vendor such as this starts experiencing a decline in business....... its usually his fault. Maybe he needs to jack those exorbitant prices he charges down a notch.... maybe he needs to invest in some advertising or maybe get some schooling in marketing...... But to blame an administration on the fact that you can sell as many chickens as you would like too....

    thats just a cop out.

We have had some hard economic times in our area..... but even through all this mess my employer has bought new vehicles...handed out raises....hired new people....... spent money and he has kept on making money.......

In business....when the shtf you either need to forge ahead and find a way to stay profitable.....or you need to get out.

If I was obama I would have drawed back and cold cocked that ungratefull non american failure.......and then once he was on the ground I would have planted my foot in his chest as hard as I could while screaming "IM THE PRESIDENT , BI**H !!!!"

What a loser....... bams might not have done the best for the economy....but thats no reason for a business person to blame their own shortcomings on.

As Jesus may have said........"When the going gets tough, the tough get down to business and produce"

chicken monger...... if you cant sell a chicken to someone........ my goodness..... we should be deporting legal americans for this kind of failure......

its a chicken for gods sake......... just a daggone chicken.

    They sell themselves........

Would you feel the same if he had been an HVAC servicer/contractor, and it wasn't chicken, but a furnace or AC?
I agree with you, but some of the rest of business owners are doing the same, like jewelry or some other HIGH mark up industry.

Obama is clearly choking the chicken industry, along with others. When the general economy is bad, everybody suffers in all sectors. Pawn shops and PAYDAY LOAN companies might see a boost. Most folks suffer, and broke customers are bad customers.

I am finding more and more customers do not have the money for new equipment, let alone repairs.
