    Goodman Res. furnace help

    Working on a Goodman Model # GMV90905 DXA. Powered up unit, called for heat and board immediately gave a 3 flash code. ( Low fire p.s. stuck open ) inducer never started switch should be open ?? Took off all stat wires and jumped w1 & r powered up again and got different code. 4 ( open H.L.) again inducer never started. All 5 limits are closed. No power out of board to inducer. Ordered new board and installed. Now I get nothing. No fault code. Have 24 v at r & w
    Inducer motor and ignitor check out o.k.

    Am I missing something or did I get a new bum board.

    Check your jack plug into the board.
    Is 120v polarity correct and you have 24v from the transformer?

    All 3 jack plugs are tight and yes I have 24v from tx. polarity is correct.
    There is no bad beer, some just taste better than others.

    It's not the plug itself, are the wires securely inserted into plug?
    It's very rare to see a DOA board, in my experience.
    Is it possible you have something shorting out or a wire worn through?
    Your meter should be able to sort this out, it will just take patience.

    I'd have another transformer ready, just in case.

    I am getting no power to the plug from the board. I put old board back in and I got my fault codes again. New board nothing. Will go at it again on Monday. Thanks for your input.

    Make sure the neutral hasn't come loos e in the disconnect

    It sounds like the original problem was your circuit board. I ran into a bunch of Goodman units, two heating seasons ago, that were doing the same thing. Make sure you have your new board wired correctly. You may have sent 120v through the 24v side somehow and fried it.

    I believe most anything is possible, but I just need a little explanation on how this could happen, when the power to most boards is feed to the board through a fitted molex connector.
