    White House never was told!

It seems to me that we were hearing that Obama was not attending the weekly intel meetings at the White House. Perhaps he and Joe would know what is going on if they were doing their jobs instead of playing golf.

They are either lying or are incompetent. Given all the varying answers from Obama and his staff I can only conclude both are true. Given Biden's inability to listen to his debate opponent I would guess if he had been informed of the ambassador's request for more security he was not listening.

I believe its quite possible that the white house never knew of the security requests.
Look at the size of the government. All the different departments all the pressing security and defense matters at any given moment.

If you are looking for a head to chop off in this.....Id look in the state department.

Heck, I believe there is a lot of things the White House don't know about, this is obvious.

Another good argument for why we desperately need to reduce the size of government.

I agree, I don't expect every little request to make its way to the President for approval but I do expect him to appoint someone competent enough to make those decisions to right posts. And, of course, the President is also responsible for all the standing orders he puts in place that gives his appointees the context by which they'll make those decisions.

Either way, the buck stops at the Oval Office. And to shirk responsibility by placing the blame on the intelligence community for the President's obvious cover-up for his administration's lack of preparedness for what is obviously a planned terrorist attack and NOT another "innocent", extemporaneous Muslim temper-tantrum (it happened on Sep 11, remember) over some obscure anti-Muslim YouTube video proves to me he has no interest whatsoever in doing what he can to protect American citizens across the globe.

So.... ed.... you think 911 should land squarely on the shrubs shoulders instead of the petty infighting and lack of information sharing among his departments ???

I dont... Our government is one gigantic cluster**** of a machine.......many departments....its not some micromanaged one owner and a helper or two business....

As president, W Bush accepted a share of the responsibility for the 9-11 attacks. Obama won't take responsibility for his farts stinking after eating too much arugala salad.

Ultimately every intelligence failure (if there is any) falls squarely on the shoulders of the President, if not in actual deed then by proxy or by the virtue of the office he holds.

That said, I don't think W ever really blamed anyone else. Until, of course, the Democrat-controlled Congress, in an attempt to discredit his administration so that their man could get elected to the nation's highest office, decided to hold committees, subcommittees & inquiries to see who knew what when when we all know it was al Qaeda who's really at fault. And, the difference between W and Obama is W didn't make up some story about some obscure video that caused this terrorist act - but Obama did.

Look, I'm with you, corny: I also think the constant partisan bickering has got to stop! But when a terrorist act happens we should call it what it is instead of fabricating some story blaming ourselves for what happened.

Maybe bams will come out after he leaves office and accept part of the blame....

I cant find where Bush ever took part of the blame for his negligence which allowed 9-11 to happen..... but Im sure he waited till he was out of office to do it.

As for the attack..... protester outside the embassy protesting that movie..... sorta looks to me like the intial motive for the attack was the film..... but a day or two later the admin was saying that they thought it was a planned attack by terrorists.....

Looks to me like they just didnt know at first and were placing blame on the most obvious reason.....

anyhow.... just a couple of more weeks for america to decide.... God help that heathen cultist romney and his pet athiest attack dog ryan when the shtf.....

Corny why don't you just admit that you are a yellow dog liberal Democrat and will defend Obama and all the other socialist Democrats who are destroying our country and in your opinion alien or not they are better than good patiotic conservative Americans. I think that about sums it up. Thank you, thank you very much

President W Bush did not take blame for "his" part of the reason for the attacks of 9-11 because he took no part in it directly. What President W Bush did do is take responsibility for the failures that allowed the attacks to occur because he was at that time the president. Obama does not take responsibility for anything unless there is something positive in an event, in which case Obama takes full credit for whether he had anything to do with it or not.

Where do you come up with this **** corny. Especially about "heathen" Romney and "athiest (sp)" Ryan? Sounds like you are a volunteer spokesperson for "moveon.org" or some radical leftest hate/smear group. Thank you, thank you very much
