10 Ton BRYANT 15 SEER Gas Pack change Out

Removed a Lennox 10 Ton RTU That had seen WAAAY too many Hackers. Wiring was a mess beyond repair. 2 New Compressors with old driers and 2 Bad TXV's. The Customer opted for the Higher Efficient BRYANT RTU with Motor Master V Outdoor Fan Speed Control for Low Ambient Operation, Hail Gaurds, Manual Outside Air and Touch Screen T-Stat.

Glad to see hail guards. We don't do many RTU's but we always put hail guards on them. A couple hundred up front saves a couple thousand in insurance claims down the road.

Yea, those units up there are a magnet for hail. So Bryant has gone to 1 condenser fan on a 10 ton? Is it loud? Probably single compressor too?

The 15 SEER Unit has 1 very beefy 3 Phase Condenser motor and TXV Metering Devices. 2 Copeland Scroll Compressors. The Condenser motor is not as loud as you would think. We used the Motor Master V Speed Control for Low Ambient Operation. Hail guards are a Must, The coils are so tender now days that it don't take much to damage them.

I was at a class last week with American Standard. The tech rep and a dealer were discussing an A-S/Trane 10 ton with single fan and trying to quiet it down as the customer was complaining.
