    trane xl 1200 heat pump

    Im working on Trane Heat pump xl 1200. when the unit goes into defrost should the emergency strips come on?

    Yes it should!!! It is doing what is designed to. While the system is in defrost mode the heat pack should come on to supply heat to the home.

    What were you working on it for?

    When the unit went in to defrost the emergency heat was not coming on. I have traced back to the dfc. Do you think this is the correct?
