    amana ptac issue

I have a heat pumpthat was freezing the evap on ac. I added r22 and the pressures rose slightly on both high and lo sides but superheat stayed high. What i fund on the reversing valve was the temp was going down on the high side passing through and going up on the low side passing trough. about 15 degrees. I was sure it was a bleeding reversing valve. I removed the rev valve and made he unit a straight ac unit with resistance heat. The same problem persisted. Next I removed the filter/drier cap tube assembly and installed a new one. problem solved.
My question to the pros is WILL A RESTRICTION PLAY HAVOC WITH A REV VALVE OR DID I HAVE MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THIS UNIT. Thankyou for the help

If it worked fine in heat before you performed your modification to it, it sounds as if you only had one problem and it was the restriction that you removed in the drier/cap tube assy. Hard to tell after the fact.
