    How does one estimate something like this or is it just the media barking out a number to impress the viewers?

    I don't know how they figure that out, lightning is static electricity I guess a good place to start in rubbing your feet on the floor. ANYWAYS I sure wouldn't be getting back on that horse.

    Watched the video... the signal term they used was "as much as one billion volts".

    That's like a car dealer saying, "Prices start as low as..."
