You have a lovely wife there Glenn,

The reason I asked is my Mother and only Sister both have had to battle breast cancer.

Once you have someone close to you that has had to battle it you are affected by it because you have seen first hand the endless heartache it can cause.

It has absolutely nothing to do with being PC or anything remotely close to it.

God forbid anyone you love gets it.

But I can tell you this much, if it did happen your current perspective would be changed forever.

Try giving that some thought.

Why is that a feminist avatar? I work with a Relay for Life team for the American Cancer Society and breast cancer is our main focus. I even have a tee shirt that says I Love (heart symbol) boobs on the front and "Check em, or I will" on the back. For the ladies is a tee shirt that has a squirrel on the front with the words; "I love nuts" and "Check em, or I will" on the back.

Just because cancers can be gender specific doesn't mean that cancer icons are.

Just in case there are those who really don't know what a candy striper is;

A candy striper was traditionally a young, female hospital volunteer; a concept that originated in the 1940s. The unique job title represented the candy cane look of the red and white-striped pinafores worn by the volunteers. Traditionally, the girls sewed their own pinafores. East Orange General Hospital in New Jersey claims to have started the first candy striper program in 1944.

I've worked with adult Boy Scout leaders who are Muslim.

I remember candy stripers back in the 70s..... I see volunteers in hospitals now.... but they either wear scrubs....or uniforms....khakis...and a polo shirt with a hospital volunteer program logo.
