what is the diff between control points and proxy points??

In workbench Cntl-L --- > module://docDrivers/doc/aProxyPoints.html
any object that extends BControlPoint will have a ProxyExt
IF the control point is an IO point that exists under a driver's points folder then the ProxyExt will be of a type that is appropriate to that driver.1 + 1 = 3 ( *** for very large values of 1)

Proxy is part of a control point. It's the mechanism making the read/write things over the network.
