Conversion Therapy
So now Californication has outlawed any counseling that trys to help a minor with questions about there sexuality.
Apparently the door swings both ways. Gay groups can't recruit by law.
More nanny state.

Look at it this way, they will be bred out in time. Seriously if you have the gene that makes you gay and you are out of the closet eventually that gene will go away.
At least thats what I am hoping.

Curious thing about genetics a researcher found:
After doing a LONG study (well over a decade), they found folks who were born WITHOUT any sign of diabetes... yet ate a sugar heavy diet... developed type 2 diabetes. Now here is the interesting thing: They grew a diabetes gene. Yes, they grew a diabetes gene.
GA does not believe folks are born with a gay gene... rather it is an emotional dis-order... mostly based on insecurity of one's own sexuality. Now if we apply the proven genetics of growing a diabetes gene... I wonder if someone who chooses a gay or lessy lifestyle... would grow a gay/lessy gene? Have not seen any research on that one yet.

I believe you have garbled the content of the study. Variants of a certain gene are closely identified with type 2 diabetes. This would be a mutation or transposition error, not the body growing a new gene.
I realize you probably heard it or read it on the internet or Fox News but a citation of the study would be helpful.

Yeah that makes about much sense as banning guns. Only criminals have guns then. Now only gays will recruit and no one will stop them.
But let a professional counselor, church group, friend or family member try to convince a child to be straight and they are thrown in jail. I guess that applies to doctors who would prescribe hormones for the child to set him or her "straight". Thank you, thank you very much

That's an interesting point. Wouldnt drugs or plastic surgery be considered changing ones sexual gender.
And what if your 14yr old son says he's gay and wants to only wear girls lothes but you refuse and buy him only boys clothes. Would that not be considered conversion therapy or psychological abuse.

At least they finally made a decision agaistthe homosexual recruits.

Ever hear a parent say their kid told them "Dad, mom, I think I'm straight."
If gays are born that way then there has to be a gay gene passed down by their parents.

We don't know a lot about the cause, but presumably, there has already been enough time to excise offending genes from the gene pool.
This would be aided by the fact that most gays do not procreate.

Rape , sexual abuse, pedofilia, incest, pornography all contribute to sexual "curiosity" and promiscuity. The victim may become the perpetrator or just be totally confused in the matter or just make the choice. I would imagine a gay couple raising a child would have that child really confused about the whole thing, but then on the other hand a lot of people are confused about a lot of different things that others would say is weird or not acceptable like that lady that eats dirt everyday.YUCK>

I tend to agree. In my opinion, it seems to be more of a behavior than a trait.
I'm not sure that means they can "help it" if you see what I'm saying.
Seemingly it would go the same way that we all evolve according to our environment and our experiences.

Good post!
This is just one of endless reasons an emotionally healthy home is VERY important to a kid (boy or girl) growing up to be a mature and healthy adult.

Doing Time On Maple Drive is a good movie about a nuclear family dealing with a son that comes out of the closet. Jim Carey is the gay son.
Hey Scrog!
If there was a gay gene and only gays could pass it down then there would be less gays. But there seems to be more everyday. Makes mone think it is a social behavior.
