Don't ask me why I fixed this.
But we got it going. Dog piss on outdoor condenser. Corroded thru the bottom tube in several places. We got the wise idea to replace about half the tube. 12lbs of r22 later, its good to go.

Why did you fix that?? You could cut some sheet aluminum or better yet copper strips and solder to tje new tubes as well...your job is not done.

I would have taken some sheet metal and covered that whole section up, I bet all of the air is drawn thru that area and not anywhere else. I bet the head pressure is pretty high too. With 12 Lbs of r22, I would love to see what you charged them!

You realize they still sell condenser right? Even dry R22 condensers.

How does that even work? Air flow through opening not through fins as previously stated.
