    My Friday......

Ever give a customer a bid to repair that you really hope you don't get?

    I got one!

So this air handler sounded like a washing machine full of boulders. Drive end bearing failure do to, let's just say, bad workmanship.

I guess you don't need shaft keys at this place... (I pulled the bolts out before I snapped the picture)

Tapered bushing, hmmm, looks like they got it tight enough...

    Cozy little install....

    Did I say cozy?

    Yeah, "That's bad"...

If a day goes by and you have learned nothing, I hope you got a lot of sleep.

So I get there and the customer says, "so how many helpers you bring in today" My answer "me, myself and I".

He says "this has to be running today you know"....

Anyway... She's all better now, new shaft, new wheel, new bearings and a one off stepped shaft key made on the customers end mill...

This thing was installed in such a way that the wheel was to big to come out of the rigging.... Had to get a little creative.

    All in a days pay....

So out of this deal, they gave us a job for a new vacuum pump skid and want us to bid an additional cooling tower...

That is the advantage of the field providing the quotes.... I bid the labor and the materials, also ordered all the parts and scheduled the job directly with the customer.

    Lovin' the doughnut...LMAO.

NO, it is a Trane chilled water Climatechanger, I believe late '80's early '90's vintage.

Just curious, what's stupid about it? There are quite literally thousand of these things around here...

Never mind about the drive, I didn't open the picture of the ductwork and looked like the motor was sticking into the wall. It's going to be that kinda day....
