what type of plwood backer for tankless

    guys,
I'm puttitng in my first high efficiency tankless water heater this coming week and I want to put up a plywood backer to start the wall field.

Does anyone know of any pre-existing requirements for plwood type?

As a default I was going to use 3/4" fire rated because thats what required in commercial wall fields in electrical rooms etc..so I figured that would be more than enough!

I'm sure that would be ok or CDX because they have zero clearance in the back from combustibles.
