    Fieldpiece SMAN 4 question

Trying to get this question answered for a buddy of mine... Are the SMAN 4's rain proof (drizzle to moderate rain not so much downpour)? Has anyone tried it or not willing to try it out? I don't recall any post saying that they are and I wouldn't know my Digi Cools are downpour proof so I'll stick to them. Thanks!

I've had my SMAN4's out in a moderate downpour and it didn't effect them one bit. Wiped them off and everything was good to go.

I do worry and try to protect them, but you can not stop something that happens outside at unit, while your inside and not knowing.
    (so far so good!)

BRENT-- have you done a review of the sman4 yet? I want to buy them or the ak900 and am stumped on which. If you've used both I bet you would have a little advice for a guy new to the digital gauge world.

    Thanks

I had the same battle, I chose the ak900s and don't regret it. The wireless feature of tge Smans is cool but I think I'll wait a while before buying into all that fanciness.

Used my S3 in a thunderstorm. Lightning split a tree 200 feet away. Gauges were fine but I needed a wardrobe change.
If they break I'll get me some Sman4's.

    Fieldpiece SMAN 4 question

    CFES,

Yes, I have reviewed the SMAN4's. See the link below. This was one of the first of reviews I completed and I really underestimated the possibilities and potential of the wireless features.

I have also reviewed the Testo 550's and Digi-Cool AK900's.

My advice to you is pick the gauges that fit your specific needs/application and price range.
