    Lennox GHR 26 HX warranty?

I have a guy at work working on one, in a weird twist of fate it's my brothers new rental that he may buy (he is in Afghanistan). The ps switch opens right on ignition, vent is clear, says it smells bad. Without mod and ser I suppose it's hard to say but wondering If anyone knows if HX is under warranty?

The Engineering Data says it has a "DuralokPlus" HX, which is an ArmorTuf Aluminized Steel Heat Exchanger and is suppose to have a limited lifetime warranty.

I know some other units with this same HX, the life time warranty meant 20 years. I don't have the warranty docs for this particular unit to know for sure.

You will most likely need the serial number from the unit to have it replaced, if it in fact the HX has failed.
Instead of learning the tricks of the trade, learn the trade.

Ok thanks, I think the secondary plugged up, or at least that's what his conclusion is.

Lifetime warranties will revert to 20 years if the original buyer sells the house.
Honestly, replacing the whole unit is probably best. Those furnaces are not the best.
If you do just replace the HX make sure you tilt the furnace foreward to aid in proper drainage

Those furnaces had an issue with the cold end header box. Might wanna check that first.

I have dealt with that before too, when I had the issue the ps switch wouldn't close at all. He is going back again to check into that I think. We told the HO replacement Wouk be a good option but being a rental they just want whatever us cheapest.

It's lifetime for original owner,if they live there. Rentals are treated as commercial property so it's 20 years from install.

Ok thanks I have seen it since my brother just moved it, he was going to buy it, it's a house on 80 acres so its pretty nice. It looks newer maybe 10 yr so should be good.

The guy pulled the Inducer and found HX plugged solid, it's lp so I bet it wasn't set up or someone replaced regulator and never tested pressure.

now, i wonder how long that furnace ran in that condition before it tripped a PS.

If combustion analysis were performed, ..............well you know where i'm getting at.
