I do NOT believe most of what the MAIN STREAM media presents, most of the time.
Thanks for the alternative data.

I think Romney is in trouble. The Pubs if they want to win have to be able to convince the average man(woman)that they are for the working man. The dems have done a better job of class war fare. They have been able pit the rich against the poor. That means they get almost the whole middle class. The Pubs need to show that what they intend to do is limit the massive freebies that are in the system. Most middle class working people dont get these freebies and those are the ones the pubs need to court.. Romney needs to do a much better job of conveying that message or he probably wont win. He comes off as rich and snobbish. He needs to do something to change that image pronto. Just running on "not being Obama" wont get it done IMO.

I like the favorite sites part of the page. No bias there.

I agree with you that Romney and the republicans haven't reached out to the middle class like they should have. Maybe the republicans don't want to expose their record on free trade deals with every nation you can think of. This has the net effect of shipping millions of middle class jobs overseas. But Obama is only pretending that he cares about the middle class. His only solutions are government jobs, and that isn't going to work. In the long run neither party and neither candidate has the guts to tell American manufacturers that they must bring back the millions of manufacturing jobs from China and Mexico. No candidate has the guts to talk tarriffs on the Chinese. The democrats are only pretending they are about the middle class. I saw a poll a couple days ago that said Romney had a 14% lead among the middle class. It's hard to know who to believe anymore.

You need corporations to lobby gov't for tariffs. Most corporations won't do that because it'll cut their margins if they're already based in China. The trick would have been to do this before the jobs left. Like the tire industry did. Chinese tires are now priced the same as US made and thus they've lost their advantage.
I think your market is so big, the minute tariffs come into effect say on TVs or blenders Those companies producing will close up shop and move to Vietnam or Malaysia or back to Mexico. no tariffs allowed from Mexico due to NAFTA!

Congress could simply make a corporate tax scale that was proportional to what percentage of your work was done in the U.S. For instance if all your work and engineering was done in the U.S., your tax rate would be 5%. If you were a large mutlinational, you're tax rate would remain at the current 35%. Congress doesn't have the guts to do this either because they are a bunch of elitist themselves, and they don't care about the middle class. The middle class itself would have to have to rise up and declare war against our own government, and greedy corporate and business leaders. The government and corporate executives have the U.S. military on their side. It doesn't look good for the U.S. middle class. The forces aligned against it are great.

And of course there are the facts. See this graph that averages the 1980 polling data. Carter was done for by the middle of summer.

Ain't hindsight grand?
Look at the mingling of the individual dots from August forward. Some of these polls showed Carter ahead of Reagan. Which polls do you suppose were mentioned by the MSM?
How good was their sampling?
How good is the sampling of this season's recent polls?

According to this article, it looks like the polls reported by the MSM over-sample democrats.
