    Question Have no idea what I'm doing changing out thermostats and need help please.

    OK, Got a new Honeywell Vision Pro 8000 Model # TH8320U1008 7day 3/h 2/c thermostat, going to swap out our old Trane thermostat and I'm not sure what wire goes where.
    This is a Trane Heat pump unit with auxiliary heat. I thought it would have the same letters as the old one but it does not. Please look at the attached pictures and help me please.

    I read the manual and the wiring is completely different on this old thermostat.

    We are not allowed to tell you how to wire it on this forum, but I will say this.
    NO NOT connect the blue wire on the B terminal of the old thermostat to the B terminal on the new thermostat. They are not the same, and it could damage your equipment.

    Feel free to send me an email, the address is in my profile.

    Heh, forgot to empty the spam box for my domain, had almost a years worth of emails that were kicked out by the spam filters, over 9000 of them, so was over my web storage limit.

    Fixed, try it again.

    This would be my best guess:

    BLUE = C
    RED = R
    WHITE = L
    YELLOW = Y
    BROWN = Aux/E
    ORANGE = O/B
    GREEN = G

    Please let me know how far off I am? Thanks.

    Sorry, that breaks the BB rules. No DIY here.

    I just got 2 Ecobee thermostats, they are fantastic. Love seeing operation report graphs. Recommend you consider returning the Honeywell.

    Thanks Guys! I commend you on the Rules comments.

    Mr./Mrs. felloffthetruck,

    1. There's Tricksters out there who do not follow the Color standard. So you could match the colors up and still have a Problem!

    2. The "Big Box" store Stat's are Junk. It might say Honewell but it's not the same quality thermostat a Professional will install.

    3. Wiring the New 'Stat incorrectly will cost you MONEY. I had one last year where an Electrical Engineer was Sure he could do it. Hummm... Yes, the Magic Smoke Came Out Of The Transformer. I also had one last Fall where the HO (Home Owner) installed it and it worked in the Cooling mode but as soon as he turned it to Heat.... Yes, you guessed it.

    4. If you check the Contractors map here, you'll hopefully find a Professional to give you a hand. You might possibly have a 'stat that won't work with your system.
    Yes, I know I Shouldn't But I Just Can't Help Myself...
