    SELF CLEANING FILTER

    I remember 30 yrs ago working on a Air Handler with a filtration device that was like chain mail ran through the return air duct that ran on gears top to bottom in a continuous loop that got drenched in an oily substance at the bottom.This I assume trapped all particles going through it. Anybody else seen this? Or am I dreaming?

    Didnt they make self washing electronic air filters at one time.

    They did for commercial, don't recall seeing a resi one though.
