    Balancing Mismatched Cooling Towers

I have an unusual situation. At a commercial building we have two chillers of different sizes. The condenser loop has one two cell tower (CT-1) and one single cell tower (CT-2) that is larger than CT-1. These towers do not have an equalizing line, the basins are at different levels and they have a common condenser water supply and return pipe. For obvious reasons the system does not work properly and we have overflow issues which leads to automatic chiller shutdown.

We want to put in autoflow valves to correct the balancing problem. Does anybody have any experience with autoflow valves or mismatched cooling tower balancing? Has anyone seen this work somewhere? The application is in climate zone 3a.

    Thanks,
